Beep, beep, beep ... Dieter's alarm went off far too early that morning. It was his last day on Achill Island. He suffered from a terrible hangover, because he really got into the booze with his painter friend Joseph the night before. A cup of tea and an "Aspirin" helped him to recover. Dieter remembered that the O'Donnell auction was going to take place in the evening - the main reason why he actually came to Achill Island. He thought about his father Erhard, who was in hospital. Dieter would have been pleased to tell him that Brian was still alive and that his paintings were auctioned for more than £ 2.5 million. Dieter spent the day on the beach, enjoyed the sunshine and the soothing rhythm on the sea. His headache had stopped. When it started raining Dieter decided to have an early dinner at the Achill Cliff House Restaurant. He was looking forward to seeing Vicky again who was a waitress at the Cliff Restaurant. Dieter had been living by himself for more than three years now. His girlfriend had died in a car accident because young psychopaths had thrown stones from a bridge on the highway. He had seen these jerks at the court and felt like killing them. When Dieter entered the Cliff House Vicky told him that they had found a guitar near the reception. Dieter had a look at it since he knew that two musicians from Hamburg had been staying at the Cliff House. Dieter could tell straight away that it belonged to one of them, the one with the American accent who was wearing a ponytail. His name was Steven Schiff. They had met on the Thalys, and Steve told Dieter that O'Donnell was his father. When Steve was seven years old, his father gave him the guitar. Dieter wondered why Steven forgot his instrument at the hotel. What happened? In the meantime about 100 people had poured into the auction hall of the restaurant. All of a sudden the door opened: Brian O'Donnell came in wildly gesticulating, worried wrinkles on his forehead. The auction had to be postponed because somebody had stolen the paintings.
