On the Plane

Upon awaking he was confronted by friendly smile and a cup of coffee, which startled him. As a precaution he went pale and looked as though he really needed heart medicine. But since the currently sentence was "coffee or tee, Kaffee oder Tee, coffee or tee" and so on he just went for the coffee, which he preferred strong and black. This turned out to be quite a wise decision, as suddenly all around him multinational swearwords were broadcast by an even more mixed first class passenger group. Some people, he thought and especially the young ones just don't know how to behave. Of course they had never known what it meant not to have seen sugar for months. In those days they had learned to be thankful for every little bit.
