Fourth Episode
Bruno Sattler

Just when the train took up its journey from Cologne to the rest of the world, Bruno took his book containing short stories in his hands. As it was already usual for many travellers worldwide, the young man read some information about the country he would travel on the way to his destination. The book with the title "Irish Toffee" contains stories of a journalist, being responsible especially to get the latest news from the green island in Western Europe.

A middle-aged man with the habit of an artist seemed to look for the seat he had booked. He regarded the numbers of the seats intensively; and after a few seconds, a smile could be seen on his interesting-looking face. "Hello", he said to Bruno, "may I take my seat?" - "Oh, of course, excuse me, I put my things up in the luggage rack. Please wait a little bit." - "No problem at all," the artist returned in a friendly manner and a few minutes later, he was grateful to sit down.

After a while, the man in his middle age asked Bruno curiously:" Sorry, may I ask you a question? Are you also going to Achill Island?" Being very surprised about that circumstance, just having read in the book about Achill Island, the young man returned: "Yes, I do." The artist told him that he was travelling to the Brian O'Donnell meeting as well, because his old, sick father, a friend of Brian, had got the invitation from Sean Cannon and therefore asked him to go there. Dieter, the artist, introduced himself. So did Bruno. The woman on the left side of Dieter, what a surprise, also was on the way to Achill Island, she told them. Really fantastic, welcome to Ireland! Welcome...Bruno thought about a song he had heard on a CD.

Dieter asked Bruno to accompany him to the bar carriage, but the young man was so fascinated from by his reading that he staid on his seat. From time to time, his female seat neighbor, called Kim, and Bruno talked about the voyage.

But the Irish music of a band in the bar carriage was becoming so intensively loud that Bruno had no chance to continue reading. Now, what to do? He smiled. A better board programme for a journey to Ireland he had never imagined. When the musicians returned together with Dieter, the young man thought: "Singing with them would be the best." With his basso voice, Bruno sung as loudly as he could. Such a fun! The musicians laughed and inspired him to new vocal records. Only after being out of breath, the young man wanted to take a short break to recover.

Hungry like a wolf, Bruno, who had eaten nothing since this morning enjoyed the really fantastic food offer of Dieter: the yellowest banana from the Copa Cabana, delicious cake, mother home made, best-tasting cheese sandwiches and a stomach filling muesli bar, the paradise for gourmets. "If Dieter would open a restaurant, I would be his first guest."

"Next train stop: Brussels," the charming voice told the passengers of the Thalys 9444 through the loudspeaker.
