Thoughts & Coffee
Sophia Komor

This letter I got a few days ago - I am still very confused about it. Who is Brian O'Donnell? How am I related to him? How does he know me? Or maybe: How did he know me? I can't get my head clear because it's all in there. My only guess is that my producer - I wouldn't go so far as to call him father - knew Brian O'Donnell. That could be possible because I know that he likes to travel, especially in the northern European countries. Well, I will find out anyway just because I won't stop until I found out. I came to the following conclusion: I guess I have to travel to Achill Island - that's where Brian O'Donnell lived - to find out more about it. Maybe the people living there or -or maybe and - the man I got the letter from know something and can help me. I desperately hope so. It could be possible that Mom knows something about Brian O'Donnell, Achill Island or my producer's relationship to either one of them. But it also seems I'm totally lost here, 'cause Mom won't talk to me. She doesn't want to talk about my father or anything related to him. So I'll go to a travel agency right away to get a flight to Achill Island and to take my fate into my own hands.
I am awfully proud of myself.

I am so glad Helen decided to also go to Achill Island. I mean I don't know one single person there. Hopefully Helen and me can manage to just forget about the problems we have had in the past. I desperately hope so.

I think I'll just take a break and have some coffee in the Cafe Blue. Maybe my aunt's there, too. I hope I'll meet at least some friends there.

I am glad Helen convinced me to not travel by plane but to rather go by train. She told me she wanted to be in Brussels again, to relive the old times. I start right now to plan the further trip. I mean when we want to get to Achill Island and we go via Brussels, we can visit one or two other cities, can't we? What about - well, Dublin sounds nice. And we'll start some days early so that we will have enough time left for further unplanned trips. I am excited already. Who knows what's going to happen on that trip?
