„Train stations
– my god, it's always train stations where I get melancholic and start
thinking about life." Judith sighed and looked down on her clothes. In this
moment she had the impression that her COLOURFUL COAT was a bit inconvenient
for a trip to Ireland. And didn’t some people look at her with a headshaking
smile? „Anyway, colours can help." That she knew.
She loved colours and especially the pale glance of the paintings from the 19th century. For that period she had been a recognised expert when she worked as a curator in the Hamburger Kunsthalle. Her favourite was William Turner. The Turner with the mysterious atmosphere and one of her absolute favourites was the famous „Rain, Steam, and Speed" where a locomotive like an one-eyed GHOST came out of the threatening darkness. And this early love for Turner had driven her into the arms of Brian O’Donnell. She first met the painter on an trainride from Hamburg to Cologne. And now she was entering the same train again - more than 40 years later, with this peculiar invitation to Achill Island in her pocket. „I guess I need a cup of coffee", she murmured while she was looking for an empty seat.
