Heiner Maier thinks about death

The train to Ireland is leaving Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe [Schwirzke, Kassel, Bahnhof Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe] 8.40h.

Nightowl H.M. - living at the outskirts of the city - hated it very much to get up so early in the morning. He decided to go to Kassel the day before. He booked a nice room in the highclass Hotel Kurfürst Wilhelm I. [Schwirzke, Kassel, Hotel Kurfürst Wilhelm I]. It´s just a step to the station and so he had time enough for his long beauty-care and an excellent breakfast.

His large luggage he had sent by train days before, but nevertheless he had a big travelling-bag with him, securing the very valuable but unfinished manuscript of his Irish-History-Novel.

Dressed in a loose black furlined (synthetic, of course) coat, a yellow scarf falling over his shoulders to his knees and a large black fur hat you could see him in front of the timetable, before he swept to the platform and disappeared in the ICE. Some of the travellers noticed his bare feet in sandals with a bewildered look. They had but known his very own reason to refrain from wearing socks and proper shoes.

Having found his reserved seat in carriage 3 he walked to the dining car for a drink. A young lady and her boyfriend holding a glass of champagne in their hands gave him a smile. This warmed him up and after a while he returned. Dropping on his seat, he felt something crackling in the left pocket of his black coat. He remembered the brochure: The day before yesterday he visited the Sepulkralmuseum Kassel [Schwirzke, Kassel, Sepukralmuseum] to see an exhibition called "Last minute", researching into the last minutes before death, and so H.M. began to philosophise about death in general and about last minutes of the Irish King Milesint [Schwirzke, Kassel, E. Moerike: "Die traurige Krönung"] , of course. So he spent the time in thoughts until the arriving train roused him from his reflections.. There he rested till Frankfurt, where he had to change for Cologne.
