Vaulenberg had met a number of interesting people on the island - but his new Irish friend had been absolutely stunning. He had taken Andreas for a walk along the roads and through the spongy patches of moss around Keel, while the guide had told him all about the surroundings, including the two settlements which formed the deserted village.
