1. Course outline:

ALL ABOARD! – ride the train and write a novel

Join other Europeans on a virtual train ride to Ireland. Use your imagination to write and design a web-story in English. Follow in the footsteps of great writers and describe historic places, technical and architectural highlights, fictional people, etc. Get in touch with people from Madrid, Brighton, Volterra, Graz, Umea, Colgne, Kassel, Hamburg, Koblenz and Marburg in cyberscape as well as in reality. Ride the train to County Mayo, Ireland, in February, 2001, meet participants on the way, and continue to publish your story while you travel.

2. Course contents:

  • From virtual to real - Introduction to the CONNECT project
  • Write your way to Ireland - Creative writing workshops
  • Create your own hypertext - Theory and practice
  • Connecting people - Editing a web novel, linking European (hi)stories
